Internal Conflict
Suppressing natural behavioral tendencies or having co-existing tendencies that pull the individual in two different directions usually causes intra-personal conflicts, referred to as me-me conflicts.

For example, a person who is challenge-oriented and wants immediate results may also have a perfectionistic tendency and, therefore, will also want the task done correctly. It's like having one foot on the gas pedal and the other foot on the brake. Anyone who has ever driven a car knows how much energy this can burn. People who experience me-me conflicts on a daily basis may also be difficult to live or work with because they do not recognize this contradiction in themselves and may give mixed messages to others regarding their expectations.

The first step in approaching a me-me conflict is to determine what the conflict is and where it is coming from. SI provides both behavioral and attitudes assessments which assist in this discovery process.

Success Insights Employee-Manager™

Learning about a behavioral model will help a person to better understand themselves and others, enhancing personal and professional relationships. An understanding of behavior will lead to the accomplishment of the following:
  • Increased Understanding of Self
  • Increased Understanding of Others
  • Increased Communication
  • Increased Productivity
  • Decreased Tension
All of the above are important to effective employee-manager relationships and affect the success of workplace initiatives.
The Personal Interests, Attitudes and Values™ assessment measures responses in each of the six attitudes. The computerized report shows each of the six attitudes compared to a national average. You are provided with information on the WHY of your actions, which with application, can tremendously impact your valuing of life. Once you know the attitudes that drive your actions, you will immediately be able to understand potential causes of internal conflict. If you are in a career you are enjoying, or if you are finding little satisfaction in your career, you will understand why. You will understand and appreciate your relationships more as you recognize and value the attitudes of other people. You will see how their attitudes might interact with your own.
Conflicts can occur because of a person's behavioral tendencies or values. Therefore, understanding of these two models is imperative before developing strategies for resolving or preventing them.
